The Brown University Health School of Medical Imaging, in partnership with Rhode Island College, gives you the tools to succeed in one of today’s most in-demand healthcare fields. Whether you’re starting fresh or building on past experience, our programs prepare you to earn a bachelor’s degree and gain the clinical skills needed to thrive.

The School of Medical Imaging has a formal articulation agreement with Rhode Island College. Students accepted into a primary pathway program are Rhode Island College students.

Post-Degree Applicants

The Brown University Health School of Medical Imaging also accepts students who already have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Students must meet the following pre-requisite requirements:

  • College or university level physics
  • Anatomy and Physiology I and II
  • Math (statistics or calculus)
  • Chemistry – required for nuclear medicine technologist only

Explore Your Path

To be considered for entry into one of the clinical education programs, qualified Rhode Island College students who have completed their pre-clinical required courses can apply to one of the primary pathways offered by the School of Medical Imaging where, upon acceptance, they will enter the clinical program for an additional 20 months to complete their bachelor of science degree and become eligible to apply for certification.

Throughout the academic program, experienced clinicians and neighboring community professionals work with students in both the classroom and clinical setting using the latest technology and incorporating best practices for a full education in this essential area of healthcare.

Students have the opportunity to study an additional medical imaging modality or specialty on a secondary track for eligible, registered technologists.

Admissions Information

Admission to the School of Medical Imaging is competitive and is not guaranteed by applying. Applicants will be required to complete a personal interview and essay submission.
