The Lifespan School of Medical Imaging offers an accredited certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography (DMS). In collaboration with Rhode Island College, students who successfully complete the requirements of the certificate program will be eligible for a bachelors of science (BS) in Medical Imaging. The BS in Medical Imaging is a 4-year program consisting of two years of general education and cognate (pre-clinical) courses taken at Rhode Island College followed by two years of clinical education through Lifespan School of Medical Imaging.
Students who successfully complete the diagnostic medical sonography program are awarded a certificate from the Lifespan School of Medical Imaging and are then eligible to apply for the national certification examinations offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
