Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP).
The diagnostic medical sonography program at Rhode Island Hospital is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP).
CAAHEP is the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field. In collaboration with its Committees on Accreditation, CAAHEP reviews and accredits over 2000 educational programs in 23 health science occupations.
The last on-site review was in March, 2017. The program was granted continuing accreditation in September, 2017 for ten years (maximum accreditation award).
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS) reviews that diagnostic medical sonography programs follow and adhere to standards set by CAAHEP, and recommends accreditation.
