Treatment for Conversion Disorders

The Rhode Island Hospital Division of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology evaluates and treats adults and children with conversion disorders (CDs), including psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (NES), psychogenic movement disorders, and gait disorders. A number of research studies at Rhode Island Hospital have shaped the evaluation and management of CDs--also referred to as functional neurological disorders (FNDs) in the DSM-5.
