Pediatric Orthopedics
Hasbro Children's Hospital

Orthopedic trauma

Hasbro Children’s Hospital is a Level I trauma center, serving the needs of young trauma patients as well as children needing less acute care. The trauma program is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, by specialists trained in pediatric emergency medicine and other pediatric subspecialties, and has a dedicated room for orthopedics. The Center for Pediatric Imaging and Sedation is located next to the emergency department and a radiology suite is located within the emergency department.

Children’s fractures, in expert hands, can often be managed non-operatively. Our orthopedic surgeons and their staff are highly experienced in the nonsurgical treatment of these fractures, which are different from fractures in adults. Surgical techniques are also different for children because their bones are still growing. Our surgeons practice state-of-the art surgical fracture care for children.

Conditions we treat include:

  • Broken and fractured bones
  • Spine injury
