The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center at Rhode Island Hospital, an American College of Surgeons-verified Level I Trauma Center, is staffed by board certified emergency medicine physicians and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)-trained registered nurses. 

The center has 24-hour operating room availability, as well as the following services.

Intensive care units and critical care services include:

  • Trauma

  • Cardiothoracic and coronary
  • Pediatric
  • Respiratory
  • Medical
  • Surgical

Radiology services include:

  • Spiral CT scanner and MRI in the emergency department available 24 hours
  • Interventional radiology
  • Radiology attending physician available around the clock
