Meet the Vascular Surgery Team
As a major academic medical center, we use sophisticated technology and our board-certified vascular surgeons specialize in endovascular therapies. In addition, our team also includes a board-certified anesthesiologist, a certified radiology technician, a circulating nurse, and an endovascular technician.
Nancy Crandall, RNP, is a licensed nurse practitioner at Rhode Island Hospital. She is a teaching associate in the department of surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She instructs medical students in outpatient clinics at Brown and at the Providence VA Medical Center.
She obtained her bachelor of science in nursing at Rhode Island College and her master of science in nursing at Boston University. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Rhode Island, and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.
Patricia Mcdermott, PA-C, is a licensed physician assistant with the vascular surgery team at Rhode Island Hospital. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the American Heart Association.
McDermott received her bachelor of science from the University of Rhode Island and her physician assistant degree from Cornell University Medical College. Her areas of expertise include perioperative care, wound closure and care, diagnostic interpretation and patient education.
