PEERS Social Skills Group

The Verrecchia Clinic for Children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities offers a sixteen-week social skills group based on the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) from the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. This evidence-based social skills group is intended for adolescents, ages 12 to 17, with autism spectrum disorder and/or social challenges.  Groups will be matched with similar aged peers.  Adolescents are taught how to make and keep friends, and how to handle conflict and rejection. Parents/caregivers attend separate sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist their children in making and keeping friends.

Parents/caregivers may contact Bradley Hospital outpatient services at 401-432-1119 to complete a brief phone screen and to schedule an intake appointment to determine eligibility.
