Transition Planning at the Verrecchia Clinic

As part of its mission, the Verrecchia Clinic is committed to supporting transition-age youth with developmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability.  For youth with developmental disabilities, transition is the process of preparing for life after high school.  Our clinic social worker supports families in navigating this transitional time.

Based on the needs of your child, the following services/resources may be reviewed:

Long-term adult disability services through the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH)

Short-term employment services through Rhode Island’s Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS)

Our clinic social worker will also review guardianship/alternatives to guardianship, as well as supplemental security income (SSI).
