Environment and Facilities

The primary clinical care facility for pediatric endocrinology is at the Hasbro Children's Hospital. This 118-bed facility, which opened on the Rhode Island Hospital campus in February 1994, houses the pediatric inpatient facility, intensive care unit, emergency room, and some outpatient clinics.

Women & Infants Hospital, located on the Rhode Island Hospital campus, is the site of the neonatal intensive care unit. At Women and Infants Hospital, more than 9,000 deliveries are performed each year.

Laboratories

There are small animal facilities at the Rhode Island Hospital and easy access to state-of-the-art facilities on campus at Brown University. The suite of pediatric endocrinology and metabolic research laboratories includes several large laboratories, a cold room, two instrument room and offices.
