Training Program at the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine
The Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine (CBPM) is strongly committed to educating the next generation of outstanding researchers in the scientific disciplines of behavioral and preventive medicine. The center provides a highly supportive and rich environment for research and training that embodies the values of integrity, respect, and collegiality. The research scientists at CBPM have academic backgrounds in clinical, social, and quantitative psychology, medical anthropology, exercise physiology, epidemiology, biostatistics, and medicine. These research scientists work closely with a number of trainees, collaborating actively on research and professional development.
Research scientist-trainee teams also partner with colleagues from other centers and departments at Brown University as well as with colleagues from local hospitals and community-based, national, and international organizations. CBPM maintains a large research portfolio and hosts a nationally recognized predoctoral resident and postdoctoral fellowship training program in behavioral and preventive medicine. Both pre- and postdoctoral training opportunities are supported by institutional, U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other sponsors.
