Children's Center for Liver Disease

The Children's Center for Liver Disease at Hasbro Children's Hospital offers a multidisciplinary team that provides streamlined diagnosis, management, and high-quality treatment of pediatric liver disease to pediatric patients in Rhode Island and neighboring communities.

When diagnosing liver disease or liver disease symptoms, health care providers take a detailed look at a patient’s symptoms and perform a physical examination. Additionally, providers may request a liver biopsy, liver function tests, an ultrasound, or other tests as required to assess the patient’s liver function.

Our team has the only physician with advanced certification in pediatric liver disease and transplantation in Rhode Island. Vania Kasper, MD has a multi-disciplinary approach, working with nutritionists, social workers and others to optimize the health, growth and quality of life of children with liver disease.
