Visiting Patients in Critical Care at Rhode Island Hospital
Visiting hours have been established to enable staff to provide the best care for all Trauma Intensvie Care Unit (TICU) patients. No more than two visitors are allowed with a patient at a time, and visits may be interrupted by TICU staff when medically necessary. Visitors are required to turn off cellular phones before entering the hospital.
- 6 to 8 a.m.
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 5 to 8 p.m.
Gifts for Patients
When selecting a gift for a patient, please remember that balloons, flowers, and fruit baskets are not allowed in the TICU.
There is a fee for parking at Rhode Island Hospital. For details about parking, please call parking information at 401-444-4013.
We understand it may be difficult to leave your loved one during this time. However, because TICU nurses work 24 hours a day to care for patients, family members are discouraged from sleeping in the patient's room. If you think it's necessary for you to stay overnight, you are welcome to stay in our waiting area.
Meeting with a Physician
A physician is on duty 24 hours a day on the TICU. The physician will keep you informed of changes in your loved one's condition. If you need to speak to the physician, a nurse will assist you.
