Pediatric GI Mind-Gut Wellness

Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders are common among children and adolescents, and Hasbro Children's Hospital’s Mind-Gut Wellness program will help set children and their families on paths to getting their digestive systems to feel better.

Children with functional gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional dyspepsia (FD), have heightened sensitivity in their GI tracts and altered movement in their digestive systems. As part of the hospital’s pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition, and liver diseases program, the Mind-Gut Wellness program treats patients with nutritional education and pediatric psychology. The program’s medical professionals work with every patient’s family and develop a personalized treatment plan for each child.
