How PediPRN Helps You
In Rhode Island, your child's primary care provider (PCP) can get extra help or information about treating children's mental health problems through the Pediatric Psychiatry Resource Network, or PediPRN. He or she may call to speak to a PediPRN child psychiatrist or another child mental health specialist. The specialist can give advice to your PCP, so that the PCP can combine their knowledge about your child with specialized information about how to care for your child's mental wellness. The PCP may then care for your child at their practice, or in some circumstances, suggest a referral to more specialized mental health services.
This collaboration between PediPRN and your child's PCP strives to provide care where your child needs it and at the level that best suits your child.
