For Providers: Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS)

The Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Provider course offers physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists and paramedics a live, hands-on class on emergency care of a burn patient through the first 24-hours, a critical time period.

A series of lectures and case studies are presented for group discussions. In addition, an opportunity to experience a simulated burn patient reinforces assessment, stabilization and American Burn Association transfer criteria. Testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment.

Classes occur nationally, and are frequently available at Rhode Island Hospital. Learn more or view the current schedule.
