Pediatric Nutrition Teaching Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital

The Nutrition Teaching Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital provides customized nutrition education, nutrition counseling, and personalized support to our patients’ parents and caregivers. Our highly qualified staff of pediatric registered, licensed dietitians can help optimize a child’s nutrition, which can improve medical outcomes and health.

Appointments

Appointments are available Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Physician referrals are required, which you can download below. Please tell your physician that an ICD-10 code is required.

To schedule an appointment, call weekdays 401-444-7152:

  • 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    Monday and Tuesday 
     
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Wednesday through Friday

Conditions We Treat

We offer pediatric medical nutrition therapy counseling for a variety of health conditions, including:

  • Abnormal weight gain
  • Abnormal weight loss
  • Basic food allergies/intolerance
  • Constipation, unspecified
  • Failure to thrive
  • Obesity/overweight
  • Picky eaters / high-risk infants / other feeding disorders of infancy and early childhood
  • Tube feedings – feeding difficulties and intolerance management
  • Underweight

Our Location

The Pediatric Nutrition Teaching Center is located on the lower level of Hasbro Children's Hospital.

Nutrition counseling is often covered by insurance.  However, patients should check with their insurance providers prior to scheduling their appointments to ensure that the service is covered for their diagnoses.
