Pediatric Psychologist

Marc J. Perkel, PsyD, is a pediatric psychologist in the medical-psychiatric inpatient unit at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Perkel received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Davis. He completed both his master’s degree in forensic psychology and his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology. He completed his psychology internship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Perkel then completed his fellowship training in pediatric psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Perkel’s clinical and research interests include pediatric psychology (addressing adherence, mood, behavior, and coping/adjustment concerns related to acute and chronic medical conditions) and child psychology (trauma, depression, anxiety, anger/mood lability, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors).
