Lifespan Urgent Care makes Rhode Island debut in Warwick

September 20, 2019

The doors to the first Lifespan Urgent Care in Rhode Island will open on Mon., Sept. 16, at 17 Airport Road (at the intersection of Warwick Avenue, Hoxsie Four Corners).

Now Rhode Islanders who have come to trust Lifespan and its affiliated hospitals for delivering health with care will be able to access the same high-quality service for minor medical conditions at a Lifespan Urgent Care.

The opening of the first Lifespan Urgent Care in Warwick will provide area residents a convenient and quick way to seek care for minor illness and injuries. Visiting a Lifespan Urgent Care, a program of Lifespan Physician Group, has the added benefit of seamless access to a patient medical records on the MyLifespan patient portal as well as to Lifespan emergency services, primary care providers, and specialists if needed.

The Warwick location, and all future Lifespan Urgent Care facilities, will be supervised by medical director Olivier Gherardi, DO, a long-time Cranston resident and father of three.
“Urgent care is a safe and cost-effective alternative to the Emergency Department, as we are able to quickly take care of patients who have symptoms or concerns that come up suddenly and who are stable and not in a life-threatening situation,” Gherardi said. “Urgent care can easily accommodate patients who cannot see their primary care physician because of time constraints, as well as those who simply don’t have one.

“As an added benefit, Lifespan Urgent Care is a great resource to then direct those patients who need further care to the right channels, whether that’s back to primary care, or to more focused care, such as therapy, mental health services, or other specialists we can provide,” Gherardi said. “We’re equipped to do lab tests and X-rays, which allows us to accurately diagnose certain conditions and start treatment promptly and effectively.”

Bobby Hingorani, Director of Urgent Care Operations for Lifespan Physician Group, said, “We are honored to be your neighborhood Urgent Care and hope to help families, patients, and employees get the great care they deserve,” said Bobby Hingorani, Director of Urgent Care Operations for Lifespan Physician Group. “We are a state-of-the-art facility. Our well-trained medical staff believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. “
