Tao Hong, PhD, DABMM, DABCC, is the director of the Microbiology Laboratory at Lifespan. He is board-certified in both medical microbiology (ABMM) and molecular diagnostics (ABCC). He is a member of the American Society for Microbiology and the Association for Molecular Pathology, as well as a member of the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship committee at Lifespan. His research interests include development and application of rapid molecular diagnostic procedures and using PCR/nucleic acid sequencing technology in clinical diagnostics.
