Virgelica Cabral is an asthma/health educator in the Community Asthma Programs at Hasbro Children's Hospital, and a research assistant for RI-AIR. Cabral was born and raised in Rhode Island and is the daughter of two Dominican parents. She received a bachelor's degree in Health Studies with a concentration in Global and Environmental Health from the University of Rhode Island.
Her future goal is to help reduce health disparities by addressing and alleviating environmental health hazards in at-risk communities. Cabral also has asthma and feels that her experiences help her better connect with families and communities through this program.
