Loree K. Kalliainen, MD

Division Chief of Hand Surgery

Loree K. Kalliainen, MD, MA, FACS, is a hand and peripheral nerve surgeon at Lifespan Physician Group Plastic Surgery. She completed medical school and plastic surgery training at the University of Michigan and a hand fellowship at the University of Virginia.

Her clinical and research interests include management of post-surgical nerve pain in the limbs, trunk, and neck; nerve transfers and reconstruction; multimodal pain management; and nerve decompression in children with mucopolysaccharidoses. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.

Dr. Kalliainen has received teaching awards and was named a “Top Doctor” by Minnesota Monthly and Minneapolis St. Paul magazines for four consecutive years. She is a director on the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is active in multiple professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. 

Dr. Kalliainen is interested in multidisciplinary care and is working with colleagues across several specialties to provide coordinated care for patients with hand and peripheral nerve injuries.
