Mary Anne Gaffney, MD

Nephrologist

Mary Anne Gaffney is a nephrologist with the Kidney Stone Center at The Miriam Hospital and has expertise in obstetric and gynecology nephrology. In addition, she is an assistant professor of medicine and a clinician educator in The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University’s Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension.

Prior to joining Lifespan’s Kidney Stone Center, Dr. Gaffney worked as a physician at MediWeightloss Clinics in Warwick, Rhode Island, a physician at Pharma Resource in East Providence, Rhode Island, and a research scientist at Allergan Pharmaceuticals in Irvine, California.

Dr. Gaffney has collaborated on medical research published in academic journals.

She earned a medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Women & Infants’ Hospital in Providence and an internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.

Dr. Gaffney is a member of the International Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Nephrology, and the American College of Physicians.
