Support Groups
Like you, we are carefully monitoring news about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States and locally. As a proactive step, the Center for Bariatric Surgery is cancelling the support groups scheduled in person. We will continue to monitor the situation for the coming months. Please call 401-793-3922 with any questions.
Spanish-Speaking Patient Support Group
All Spanish-speaking patients are encouraged to attend this support group lead by native Spanish speakers. The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month, at 5:00pm., in the Hurvitz 2 Conference Room at The Miriam Hospital.
Men's Only Support Group
All male patients are welcome. This meeting does not meet pre-operation requirements. The group meets quarterly from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Hurvitz 2 Conference Room at The Miriam Hospital.
Life After Weight Loss Surgery
All patients who have had any type of bariatric surgery are welcome. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Hurvitz 2 Conference Room at The Miriam Hospital.
Living Well After Weight Loss Surgery
This group is for patients who have had any type of bariatric surgery at least six months previously. Meetings are held in a small group setting. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 146 West River Street, on the first floor, in The Miriam Weight Management Group Room A.
Weight Loss Striders Keys to Success
This is an all-inclusive meeting for pre-operation, post-operation patients and for those just investigating the surgery. Family members are welcome. The group meets the first Monday of the month from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Hurvitz 1 Conference Room at The Miriam Hospital and the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the Sopkin Auditorium at The Miriam Hospital.
