Neurorehabilitation: Optimizing Outcomes to Reclaim Function

Lifespan Rehabilitation Services Conference Overview
This course will provide therapists with current, evidence-based strategies for assessment and intervention to promote optimal recovery and outcomes for stroke patients and other neurological disorders. An interprofessional panel of speakers will present. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance for six contact hours. This course has been approved by the Rhode Island American Physical Therapy Association (RI APTA) for continuing education units (CEUs).
Conference Objectives
By the conclusion of this conference, attendees will be able to:
- Describe current trends and best practices to maximize function for stroke patients and for other neurological disorders.
- Describe evidence to support use of rehabilitation technology to support stroke patients and other neurological disorders.
- Choose treatment strategies to simultaneously address physical and cognitive goals.
- Describe use of contextualized therapy to support communication for post-brain injury and stroke.
- Integrate strategies for promoting continence for stroke patients and other neurological disorders.
- List community resources available in region to support patients and families.
