In addition, students who are enrolled in one of the affiliated institutions receive a bachelor of science degree in medical laboratory science from that institution. Students are also eligible to take any one of the available certifying examinations designed for generalists in the field of medical laboratory science/ medical technology. The primary examination taken by students is offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Additional information can be found at www.ascp.org.
