Teen Anxiety Group (TAG)
- Does your teen miss out on things that other teens are doing, such as playing sports, hanging out with friends, or going to school?
- Does your teen often fear embarrassment or making mistakes in front of others?
- Does your teen worry all the time? Feel stressed or tense?
- Does your teen often feel sick with headaches or stomach aches?
For teens with anxiety, TAG can help.
TAG is an anxiety management program that helps teens overcome anxiety, stress, fear, and worry. The program empowers teens to regain control of their lives. Parents also learn how to help teens stop their avoidance of certain situations and helps them triumph over anxiety. The program aims to help teens become more confident, knowing they can rise above anxiety; act courageously by facing their fears; and get back to doing the things that make their lives meaningful.
Teens who are eligible for the program are invited to participate in a 12-week cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program. CBT is a well-established, highly effective, and lasting treatment. Teens learn to identify, understand, and change unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns. Parents meet separately to learn how to encourage and support teens to practice CBT skills during daily life.
Registration is open year-round. Groups are filled based on age, clinical presentation, and best fit with other group members.
